When it comes to elections in Tamil Nadu – be at at the state level or national level or even constituency polls, everyone wants to know which side the biggest superstar – Rajinikanth is on, considering his opinion is known to have a strong influence on people. In 1996 when Jayalalithaa was contesting for elections. Rajinikanth had famously stated – “If Jayalalithaa is voted back to power, even God cannot save Tamil Nad.” Some say that one statement was the primary reason Jayalalithaa lost the elections. Currently with RK Nagar bypoll elections going on, everyone wants to know what’s on Rajinikanth‘s mind. Two days, ago a picture of  Gangai Amaran and Rajinikanth was doing  the rounds of social media. Reportedly,  Gangai Amaran has been elected as a candidate for BJP for RK Nagar. The pic fuelled rumours of a possible political meeting between the two. So, there were several rumours floating around but Rajinikanth has cleared the air today.

He has taken to social media to state – He supports no one. This decision doesn’t come as a surprise considering Rajinikanth has openly confessed his regret at what he said back in 1996.  At Jayalalithaa’s condolence meet he admitted that he had criticised her and that he was in a way responsible for her defeat.
