Vidya Balan and Arjun Rampal’s Kahaani 2 – Durga Rani Singh will be releasing on coming Friday, December 2. A sequel to Kahaani, which was released in 2012, the film is awaited, due to the recall value of its prequel and its promos, which are well received. In a recent interaction with HT Cafe, Vidya Balan was asked about the pressure of delivering a success considering it’s a sequel to a much loved suspense thriller. Vidya, very candidly said, “It’s not a sequel, so that takes half the pressure off. If we had come up with the film right after Kahaani, there would have been a lot more pressure. Also, honestly, after Kahaani, all my films haven’t worked (laughs), so, I feel no pressure. We are hoping for the best and I’m not feeling any pressure as of now. Also with non-stop promotions, there’s no time to think.” That’s a brave statement from the actress. There are very few people in the film industry who accepts and acknowledge their flop films. And rightly so after the success of Kahaani, she was seen in Ghanchakkar, Shaadi Ke Side Effect, Bobby Jasoos, Hamari Adhuri Kahani and Te3n. And all five of her films flopped at the box office.
Talking on the matter of demonetisation and if they are worried of it affecting their film’s business, Vidya was seen content and said, “I think, initially, there was a worry. But we are being positive and hoping that it won’t affect our movie as the situation is looking better. I think people do want to see a film.” Arjun on the other side, who already has faced the wrath of demonetisation with his last release Rock On!! 2 seemed worried and said, ” I am very scared as I don’t want a repeat of Rock On 2. I was told that everything was under control but I saw a long queue outside an ATM (recently), so I am like, “Are we really under control?” Also read: Vidya Balan gives out a MAJOR SPOILER about Kahaani 2 – Durga Rani Singh in the new dialogue promo?
Well we think they need not worry as their film looks intriguing enough for people to check it out.
