Currently, Baahubali 2 is one of the most talked about subjects as the movie is all set to hit theatres in 8 days. While fans are eagerly awiating the release of this historical drama, the movie is facing major issues in Karnataka. Turns out the film might not see a release in the state, courtesy Sathyaraj aka Kattappa. Here is what exactly happened – Back in 2008, Tamil nadu initiated the Hogenakkal Integrated Drinking Water Project. The Karnataka government opposed this project. That’s when members of the Nadigar Sangam assembled together to openly talk about this Opposition on behalf of the Karnataka government. At that time, Rajinikanth’s speech hogged the spotlight. It was only in recent times, Sathyaraj’s speech resurfaced and the word spread. He had allegedly made a strong speech wherein he had called Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj , “a comedy character.” Since Baahubali has become a popular franchise today, Kannadiga groups headed by Vatal Nagaraj chose to target the actor now, by banning his movie in order in order to seek an apology from him. The press conference that was to be held in Karnataka today by the Baahubali team was cancelled. No distributor has bought the theatrical rights for Baahubali in Kannada because of the fear of backlash from these pro-Kannadiga groups. SS Rajamouli also took to social media to make an appeal to all the Kannadigas –  He requested them to show the same and love for Baahubali 2 like they had shown for Part. He also believed that it was not right to hold a grudge against the movie and the rest of the team because of one actor. He also said, this ban would affect the movie and not Sathyaraj.
