Sanjay Dutt, who is making a comeback with Omung Kumar’s Bhoomi, is currently in Agra for a fifty-day schedule. It has been reported that some days ago they shifted 15 kms away from Agra to shoot for a wedding sequence but even after the tight security arrangements, the shoot had to be stalled. Looks like the makers had underestimated the stardom of Sanjay Dutt. A source from the unit said, “We were shooting at Kaushal Bajpai’s house in a village called Bamrauli Katara near Agra on Thursday. It was a night shoot and we had more than adequate security in place. Apart from Sanjay sir’s bodyguards, the state police force had deployed their men on location.”

The source added, “We didn’t realise when the crowd wildly multiplied and turned unruly. It wasn’t safe for Sanjay sir to come out for the shoot. Aditi (Rao Hydari, who plays his daughter) was also a part of the scene. We waited for hours for the crowd to thin out before calling off the shoot.”

When director Omung Kumar was asked about the same, he said, “We were all set to roll, but thousands of people just took over our set. We couldn’t manage the crowd; it was impossible to shoot that night. It was in the best interest of everyone to cancel it.”

Starring Sanjay Dutt in the lead role, Bhoomi also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Shekhar Suman, Sharad Kelkar, Sidhanth Gupta among others. Also read: Sanjay Dutt celebrates Maha Shivratri at famous Agra temple- view pic

Slotted for an August 4, 2017 release, Bhoomi is a revenge drama that revolves around a father-daughter relationship.

Originally, Sanjay Dutt wanted Aditi’s role to go to Alia Bhatt, who seems to be on every filmmaker and actor’s favourite due to her immense talent. However, reports state that Alia denied doing the movie and was in fact, hell bent on not playing the part in Bhoomi. The makers then decided to approach Aditi, who gave it a thumbs up.
