Earlier there were reports that the multiple time National award winner Kamal Haasan will take on the role of the host of the Tamil version of the popular reality show, Bigg Boss. However, a report in Quint has the acting legend confirm the new assignment he is about to take on. And he is looking up to Salman Khan, the current host of the Hindi Bigg Boss that was aired on Colors, as an inspiration when it comes to interacting with the contestants, and leaves no stone unturned when it comes to praising the Sultan star.

Speaking to Quint, Kamal Haasan said, “Salman genuinely bonds with the contestants on Bigg Boss. There is no pretension or patronising in his attitude. Being friendly comes naturally to him. And he gives advice as a friend, not as a mentor. There is none of the I-know-better superiority in his attitude. I’d also like to bond genuinely with the contestants, though how it goes will depend entirely on how they perceive me, as a friend or as a mentor.” Well, that’s why the channel has retained Salman Khan as the host, despite his huge fees, for the last few seasons. Though with all the circus that happened in the last season, we are not sure if Salman would want to return.

Kamal Haasan is currently working on Sabaash Naidu, the spinoff based on the funny cop character in Dasavtharam, that also stars his daughter Shruti Haasan. Then there is also the post-production schedule of the much delayed Vishwaroopam 2 to keep him busy. So who will Bigg Boss be managed amidst his hectic movie schedules? He has an answer for this. “Stepping into a new territory is always exciting. I am now working simultaneously on completing the comedy Sabaash Naidu and the post-production of Vishwaroopam 2. The Bigg Boss schedules have been worked into my other commitments. Let’s see how it goes” he replied.

We wish the super-talented legend all the very best for his new endeavor.
