23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony is done away with, and there are some very surprising and then not so surprising winners this time. As you know, SAG awards focus  only on acting talents of the year, and therefore the best performances of 2016 got some handsome awards. Denzel Washington won the Best Actor award for his role in Fences, beating the favourite Casey Affleck for his role in Manchester By The Sea. Viola Davis also got the award for the Best Supporting Actress in Fences, while Emma Stone easily beat the rest of the nominees to win the Best Actress award for her role in La La Land. Mahershala Ali won the Best Supporting Actor for the role of a kindhearted pimp in Moonlight.

As far as the TV shows go, in a very surprising but great move, the cast of Stranger Things won the Best Cast in a TV drama series, after being nearly ignored in every other award ceremonies.
