Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs is back and how! Season 5 of the popular show was fantastic and people were mesmerised by the talented kids. And looks like season 6 has started from where it left off. The first episode of the latest season premiered on February 25 and we have to say we loved it. Not only are the new judges (Neha Kakkar, Himesh Reshammiya and Javed Ali) fantastic, but we love the fact that the 30 member grand jury has been retained. Overall, the first episode was fantastic with a lot of these tiny singing sensations showing off their talent. And after looking at the first few glimpses of season 6, we are super excited for it.

The second episode aired on February 26 and it started off with the judges pulling each others legs. And after a li’l bit of fun and masti, the judges kick started the audition rounds once again. Neha was particularly excited during the episode and we totally love her enthusiasm. During the show, we saw many tiny tots, coming in and showcasing their singing skills. Some were good, while some weren’t but each and every kid was special. However, the first contestant who caught our eyes was Dhroon Tickoo. The kid left us spellbound as he sang Ek Chatur Naar from Padosan. He is just a small kid, but he sang it like a professional. Mid-way through the performance, Himesh went on stage and even started touching Dhroon’s feet to get his blessing, but the kid continued singing. As he finished the song on a magical note, the whole jury gave him a standing ovation. Dhroon and his mother revealed how they had gone to every reality show, but Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs is the first where Dhroon’s talent has been accepted. Another kid who surprised us was Saimann Seva, who sang I Love You from Bodyguard. Saimann’s father always wanted to be a singer, but it’s Saimann who is fulfilling his wish. The boy sang beautifully and the judges actually went ahead gave the medal to his father for training him to sing so well.

But two of the best performers of the day were Aftab Singh and Rajshree Bagh. While Aftab sang Piya Re Piya Re, Rajshree sang Mohe Rang Do Laal from Bajirao Mastani. Both of these kids performed phenomenally well and we were speechless after seeing their acts. Their parents even mentioned about their heartbreaking stories and they totally won our hearts. Anyway, while these mesmerising performances and heartwarming stories made the show a decent watch, there are a few things that could have made it better. We really wish that the makers make it into a one hour show. This is because 1 and a half hours can get boring after a point. A few dramatic moments could have also been avoided during today’s episode. But overall, the show was a decent watch and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
