Bollywood celebrities like Lata Mangeshkar, Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan have greeted their fans on the occasion of the Republic Day and also saluted the armed forces. Like every year, this year too a lot of celebrities stand tall and salute the National flag as they pay their tribute. Patriotism is in the air as common men and celebs are glued to their TV, watching the parade, the marching band and all the festivities that take place on the Republic Day. Just day before yesterday, Akshay Kumar had also issued an initiative that would kickstart today, if he gets enough support and response from fans and citizens of the country.

While everybody lauds the work of the army, who are protecting us from the perils of outsiders, Kumar’s plan ensures safety for the families of the jawans post their death. A lot of times several people who wish to help the families of the army men post their death, are unable to do so due to the tedious procedures that they go through. However, Kumar’s plan suggests that the common people can directly connect with the afflicted family and fund them upto a certain amount so their livelihood is secured. Many celebs have taken up various such initiatives to propel betterment of the society and to make the country a better place to live in.
