Apart from Baahubali 2, one of the most awaited movies of 2017 is Rajinikanth‘s 2.0. The Tamil superstar will return as Dr Vaseegaran, Chitti but that ‘s where the similarity between Robot and 2.0 ends. The story is brand new and this time, the villain is bigger and ‘badder’. This Bollywood star will debut in Tamil cinema as the baddie opposite Rajinikanth. That’s Akshay Kumar for you. 2.0’s first look launch was a larger than life event held in Mumbai with the cast and crew present. everyone form 2.0 team spoke at length about their 2.0 journey. Three posters were revealed that day – Akshay Kumar’s first look as Dr Richards, Rajinikanth’s Chitti look and an official first look 2.0 poster. While everyone couldn’t stop gushing about the 2.0 official poster, it was Akshay Kumar’s ghastly look that took fans by surprise. He plays Dr Richards an ornithologist who turns into a crow as a result of a bad experiment. The actor had mentioned at the launch that in his 25 years of acting, this was the first time he had put on make up for a role.

2.0 is claimed to be one of the most expensive movies, Asia has seen till date as it’s made on a budget of Rs 400 crores. The film is being bankrolled by Lyca Productions. The film is set for a Diwali 2017 release. Earlier it was to clash with Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again, but Rohit Shetty and Team decided to push the release ahead by two weeks.
