Shah Rukh Khan‘s Raees was supposed to earn well but it did more than just that. After taking a massive start, the film went on to earn Rs. 93.24 crore in just five days. These are massive numbers mostly because such figures in the first weekend is unheard of since Raees didn’t release solo but alongside a strong opponent like Hrithik Roshan‘s Kaabil. These numbers will thus make everyone involved very happy. The gamble to release the film with Kaabil paid off and we have to credit Republic Day holiday weekend for it. Raees’ figures have only been huge. And by grabbing such collections  in its opening weekend, the film has become the highest opening weekend grosser in the event of a clash. Taran Adarsh revealed the figures saying, “#Raees Wed 20.42 cr, Thu 26.30 cr, Fri 13.11 cr, Sat 15.61 cr, Sun 17.80 cr. Total: ₹ 93.24 cr. India biz… Weekdays are crucial!” You can see the graph for yourself. Depending on whether it was a holiday or not, Raees’ growth has been pretty constant. Early Sunday reports suggested that it will be massive for the film with people making it to the theatre in hordes for the film and that’s exactly what happened. For Shah Rukh Khan, clashes aren’t a new thing and we have told you how he has aced most of them. But never has his films made such numbers during the opening weekend when his films were clashing. Dilwale had earned slightly more than Rs. 65 crore which was the biggest numbers for an opening weekend during a clash till recently. Raees-Kaabil will just add to that we are pretty sure of that. But the real test will be of Monday. If the film manages to stay firm at the box office today, it will be able to wrap up its lifetime collections on a high. So everything rests on Monday.
