Sonakshi Sinha‘s Noor that released on April 21, 2017 has really earn much at the box office. After a dismal opening day of just Rs 1.54 crore, it has now earned Rs 1.89 crore on its second day, taking its total to a poor Rs 3.43 crore. Tweeting about the same, Taran Adarsh wrote, “#Noor remains on the lower side… Doesn’t witness solid growth on Day 2… Fri 1.54 cr, Sat 1.89 cr. Total: ₹ 3.43 cr. India biz.”

The film needed a major jump to make a mark at the box office but with low collections on Saturday, there is not much hope from the film. The disappointing collections were expected considering the mixed to negative reviews and the dismal start it has received at the box office yesterday. Sonakshi’s earlier solo starrer, Akira had earned a solid Rs 16.65 crore, looking at Noor’s two day figures it won’t even be the half of what Akira earned at the end of its opening weekend.

Talking about the film, Sonakshi perfectly essays the role of Noor- an accident prone journalist suffering an existential crisis. She has a great support from the supporting cast, including Kanan Gill, Shibani Dandekar, Purab Kohli and Manish Chaudhary. Based on the book Karachi, You’re Killing Me!’ by Pakistani author Saba Imtiaz, the film has been directed by Sunhil Sippy. BollywoodLife film critic Sreeju Sudhakaran gave the movie 3 stars rating and wrote, “Noor has its flaws, and it certainly isn’t this year’s Queen, if you really want to get into comparison mode. But Noor still manages to endear to you with its light-hearted, fresh treatment and Sonakshi Sinha’s winning performance, if you don’t attach too many expectations.”
