There was a time when Imran Khan was one of the most sought after young stars of Bollywood. Since his debut with superhit Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, he was even a bigger box office draw than Ranbir Kapoor! But the success was short lived. Cut to 2017, he’s looking for takers for his film and he’s not getting any. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Imran Khan, after the debacle of his last film as main lead in Katti Batti, decided to turn director and is looking for a producer. In fact the report also stated that he met producers like Atul Kasbekar, who, after Neerja, is looking for interesting concepts. But it looks like he’s yet to get a producer on board to go along with his vision. One of the producers he recently met even asked him to rework on his script to which he obliged.

While he is looking for a producer for his directorial debut, his acting stint didn’t turn out the way he expected it to. His last success as an actor was in 2012’s Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu. After that he had a string of flops in Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola, Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara!, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein all coming in 2013. He tried to make a comeback with Katti Batti in 2015  but the film flopped. Even the reigning queen of box office, Kangana Ranaut, couldn’t save the film from becoming a critical as well as commercial disaster. Since then he hasn’t signed a single film as an actor and now his film as a director isn’t finding any producer. Wonder if he’ll ask Aamir Khan to come on board…
