Miss France Iris Mittenaere emerged the winner of the Miss Universe 2016 pageant, which took place at Philippines early this morning. India’s Roshmitha Harimurthy could not make it to the final 13 list of the pageant. It’s been 17 years since India won the Miss Universe title. Miss Universe 2000 Lara Dutta, who is now a well known name in Bollywood, had high hopes from Roshmitha. “This is a girl I believe in, now it’s time for you to make her win. Tweet Miss Universe India to vote! India, it’s time to stand united and vote,” Lara tweeted.
Miss Diva 2015 Urvashi Rautela also came out in support and urged the fans to help the Bangalore beauty reach the final round of the 65th edition of Miss Universe.”All the best @roshmitaa. Please tweet #MissUniverse #India #Roshmitha4MissUniverse and make India reach top 12 at Miss Universe,” Urvashi tweeted. But much to everyone’s disappointment, Roshmitha did not even make it to the top 13. The Indian beauty took to Instagram and thanked all her supporters and congratulated Miss France. Here is what she posted-
