Given that Kaabil locked horns with Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees, predictions suggested SRK’s star power might sabotage Hrithik’s film at the box office. In fact, even the number of screens allotted to Kaabil were lesser than Raees (2200 screens approximately) But guess the word of mouth publicity is working wonders for Kaabil considering the critics too raved about the film by calling Kaabil as Hrithik’s ‘career best performance’. Now it’s left to see if Kaabil manages to beat Raees in the coming weekend. For all the uninformed, Raees has by far managed to gross a sum of Rs 47 crore at the box office.
As rightly quoted by a leading trade analyst, “Content is King and Kaabil will hold its own on pure merit.” Producer Rakesh Roshan too is equally confident that in the coming days things will even out because Kaabil has got a really positive response. Directed by Sanjay Gupta, the film which is a revenge thriller also stars Yami Gautam who is also winning equal share of praises for her performance.
