Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds are the main leads in the upcoming sci fi flick set in space, Life. The movie also stars Rebecca Ferguson and is directed by Daniel Espinosa, known for helming Child 44, Safe House and Easy Money. This is the first time Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds are working together, but the experience is enough to make them friends and admirers for life time.
Speaking about working with Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal had this to say about his new friend, “You know I just have a profound respect for him and everything that he has done in his life and in his career. I think he is a true artist and an unconventional one. He’s on a stage that’s very big, a lot of people play on it in a very conventional way, and he has defied convention and I respect him as an artist but also as a human being.”
Jake continues, “He has one of the best hearts of anyone I have ever met and we had a wonderful time. He’s hilarious, so sharp and so funny. People talk about their love for making movies with certain people and who they want to make movies with and I really hope that this is just one of many more that we will be able to make together because I love working with him.”
Life is an epic, terrifying thriller set in space and most of the action takes place on the International Space Station (ISS) where a six man crew – all drawn from different nations – are tasked with examining a single cell life form that has been discovered on Mars and brought back to the ISS by an unmanned space craft, modelled on the Curiosity Rover, the NASA vehicle that has explored the surface of the Red Planet. The life form (organism) threatens the very existence of the crew who have no place to run, there by putting even life on earth in danger. The movie is scheduled to release on March 24.
