Hugh Jackman‘s last film as superhero Wolverine, titled Logan is up for a March 3 release. At the time of the announcement of the film, Hugh had said that Logan will be his last film as Wolverine. While many hearts were broken on hearing the news, quite a few were hopeful that by the time the movie releases, he would have changed his mind. However, in a telephonic conversation with BT, he said, “It just felt like this was the right time to do it. And let’s be honest, 17 years! I never thought in a million years it would last, so I’m grateful to the fans. It feels like this is the perfect way to go out.”
Earlier, while talking to Fandango about the speculations of a Wolverine-Deadpool crossover, he had said, “That’s probably bad timing, because I love Ryan Reynolds and I love Deadpool, but I knew I was out and I couldn’t have made this movie if I was questioning I was out. I was a pain in the ass for a lot of people with this movie, because it mattered so much to me. Even when we started writing this, and even when I asked James Mangold to come onboard, I said, ‘dude, I don’t know if I’m gonna’ make it.’ Unless it’s exactly what I want, I prefer to not do it. I couldn’t live with it. So this is it.”
Logan is receiving rave reviews from the critics, so it is understandable that the actor perhaps wants to leave the franchise on a high. Also read: Wolverine Hugh Jackman kicks cancer’s butt for the 6th time
The much awaited film will hit the silver screens on March 3, 2017 and the film being R-rated should be credited to the success of Deadpool, which was motivating enough for the makers, to go all out for the final Wolverine film. Going by the trailer, the film seems true to its source material, which is the comic book Old Man Logan.
