It’s all about the throne at the end of the day, now isn’t it? Baahubali 2 has been making quite a lot of noise, not because of the unwanted controversies but also because of the biggest question, why did Kattappa kill Baahubali? Well, the answer is in the second part which is set to release on April 28, next week. As we gear up for the big release of Baahubali – The Conclusion, there are also a few thoughts we’re engulfed with, regarding the movie. Now there has been severe brainstorming done in terms of the conspiracy theories regarding Amrendra Baahubali’s death. However, did anyone of you see the thin line of similarity thread between the period drama and Game of Thrones? Well, maybe even George R R Martin or SS Rajamouli didn’t think about this but the characters of the film hold a striking resemblance to these GoT characters. And we’re saying that purely out of the personality traits they hold and not their backstory in the series or movie.
The film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannah Bhatia, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan and more. Read on to know who their characters resemble!
Amrendra Baahubali – Ned Stark
Although Ned was killed off in the first season itself, he showed quite a lot about what kind of a person he is. True to the people, just with all, humble and all kinds of synonym for the same. In fact, he wouldn’t tolerate cheating and fooling people. Perhaps the right kind of king anyone would want. Amrendra, during his heydays (by that we mean before he was killed off), was also a ruler the common people bowed down to. All those words that are used for Ned fit perfectly to describe Amrendra Baahubali too!
Mahendra Baahubali – Jon Snow
Now we’re not comparing Mahendra to Jon just because he is Ned’s son in the series. If you think about it, the two characters do have some things in common. For quite some time, both of them were clueless about their identity. They’re both quite naive and are learning about their parents. They can go to any lengths to ensure the safety of the people they love. Not to forget, they’re both smitten by wild and feisty girls.
Bhallala Dev – Ramsay Bolton
Drowned in the need for power and with sadistic instincts, both Bhallala Dev and Ramsay have quite a lot in common. While in terms of physical strength, they may be poles apart but in terms of how their brain works, there’s a lot of similarity. Be it their want to remain in power, their sadistic pleasures to see someone in pain, their ruthlessness towards their own people and their unforgiving nature.
Devasena – Daenerys Targaryen
Compared to Daenerys, Devasena may have been a prisoner for a longer time but their spirit is a force to reckon with. They’re both very determined to ascend their rightful throne, if needed they can be ruthless too; headstrong is a word you’d be able to relate to them. And yes, they have loyal supporters always by their side. They truly are the queens!
Kattappa – Davos Seaworth
It’s not about the individual but it’s about the throne. Both Kattappa and Davos are loyalists who serve the throne and nothing but the throne. If anybody tries to misuse the powers of the throne, they’d definitely kiss goodbye to all their powers, families and well, life. They both served Hand to the King (Kattappa for Amrendra and Davos for Stannis Baratheon). Quick wit, ability to handle the warfare comes under their territory.
Avantika – Ygritte
Free spirited, feisty, tough as a nut and sharp as a blade, both Avantika and Ygritte are women nobody must underestimate. They are fierce and can crush your bones to bits if they have to. But at the same time, make them feel you are the one for them, and they’ll go to any lengths to protect you. Both the girls are untrusting towards their respective men (Mahendra Baahubali and Jon Snow) but that soon changes as they fall for them.
Sivagami – Cateyln Stark
One of the most powerful ladies, Cateyln is unstoppable, of course, till she has been murdered. Just like Sivagami herself. To be fair and just towards the deserving, both the women have suffered the consequences. In order to protect their families, they’ve sacrificed themselves. They do hold a very important role as leaders, as decision makers, as protectors, as warriors and yes, definitely as mothers.
Can you make the relations that we’ve done? Do you feel the same about this? If not, you folks can tell us who according to you resembles which of the Game of Thrones characters more, in the comments box below. Stay tuned to this space for hot scoop and latest updates.
