And it’s a wrap for Kangana Ranaut’s Simran. The actress, who has been shooting for her next film with Hansal Mehta since a couple of months, has finally completed the shoot. The filmmaker took to Twitter to share a picture from the wrap-up party, in which he is seen posing with his leading lady. “And it’s a wrap on #Simran. Thank you crew and friends. What a journey this has been!” Mehta posted on Twitter. The movie also stars Sohum Shah.

We were among the first ones to share with you the first pictures of the wrap up party last night. Kangana looked utterly fabulous in a chic blue jumpsuit. Just a few days ago, we got our hands on one of Kangana’s pictures from the sets of the film. She had donned a superhero avatar in the pic and that has us wondering as to what exactly her role would be all about. Obviously, she isn’t playing a superhero in this Hansal Mehta directorial. Well, it could be cosplay for a Halloween party, or a costume she dons while pulling off a bank heist, as per the rumoured storyline of Simran. The film had gone on the floors in October last year in Atlanta, United States. (ALSO READ: Chic Kangana Ranaut attends Simran wrap up party with director Hansal Mehta – view HQ pics)

For those who don’t know, the three-time National Award-winner will essay the role of Prafull Patel, a 30-year old divorcee. The film deals with the issues faced by divorcees. Earlier we reported how the actress was attending workshops to prep herself for the challenging role. “Kangana is a perfectionist and hence she is preparing intensively for her character. This is the first time when she will essay such a role and she wants to take no chances with it,” a source said in a statement. Simran also has Rajkummar Rao, a regular in Hansal Mehta’s movies ever since he got a National award in the Best Actor category for Shahid. Simran is scheduled to release on September 15.

Kangana will next be seen in a period drama titled Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Talking about preparation for the role, she said at an event, “I am learning sword fighting and horse riding for the film. As of now, all things are going well. We will start shooting of the film in first week of June and we are announcing the project in first week of May in a big way.” Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi is directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi who has directed several Telugu films such as Vedam and Gautamiputra Satakarni.
